About BoringCalcs

What is BoringCalcs?

BoringCalcs is a collection of free, no-signup calculator tools built for professionals and homeowners. Whether you need to estimate concrete for a patio, convert a salary to an hourly rate, or figure out how much paint to buy, we have a calculator for that. Our tools cover construction, payroll, finance, and real estate — designed to be mobile-first, fast, and private.

Why “boring”?

Because good tools should be boring. They should just work. No ads cluttering the interface, no signup walls, no upsells, no data collection beyond basic analytics. You come to the page, punch in your numbers, and get your answer. That’s it. We think the best calculator is one you forget about the moment you close the tab — because it did its job without getting in the way.

What we offer

We currently offer 19 free calculators across four categories:

  • Construction — Concrete, gravel, mulch, paint, tile, decking, fencing, and roofing calculators. Estimate materials and costs for your next project.
  • Payroll — Time card calculator, hours-to-decimal converter, salary-to-hourly converter, and overtime calculator. Get payroll numbers right.
  • Finance — Compound interest, tip calculator, and loan payment calculator. Make smarter financial decisions.
  • Real Estate — Mortgage, rent vs. buy, closing costs, and home affordability calculators. Navigate the biggest purchase of your life.

All calculations run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Your numbers stay on your device.

Built for mobile

Every calculator is designed with touch-friendly inputs and a responsive layout that works on any screen size. Use BoringCalcs on the job site, at the office, or on the couch. Inputs are large enough to tap without zooming, results are easy to read at a glance, and pages load fast even on slower connections.

Open and transparent

There are no hidden fees and no premium tiers. Every calculator is completely free to use. We take a privacy-first approach — we use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic data only so we can understand which calculators are most useful. We don’t collect personal information, we don’t track you across other websites, and we don’t sell data to anyone.
